The prince took me for hot laps in the 635 DTM car at Nurburgring test track! All 4 boots 12inches off the ground on back straight drop off and then drift through the next corner with surgical precision! He is the man!!

He was supposedly at one of the same hotels we stayed at too! I think the Lake Como one on the M Tour!

In the video it was mentioned you can lease one of them, found this.

From www.BMWgroup-Classic.com
"In total, the range available for hire comprises up to 400 cars, 170 motorcycles, numerous exhibits and historic racing vehicles from every model series ever built by BMW."

How awesome would that be on a trip to rent a classic BMW...

I also "think" that on the first Sunday of every summer month... BMW Classic takes a few of these cars down to the BMW Museum. There some lucky few can rent a spot in the passenger seat. BMW Classic takes you on a ride thru downtown Munich. Thats pretty cool way to exercise these classics.

Today I had some spare time and I was in the area so I thought I'd stop by BMW Classic. I had a quick chat with the super friendly receptionist. The workshops are not open to public yet but opening will be in September. For now you can stroll around the outside area, but from the photos you can get an idea, this will be paradise

There are not only classics but also many soon-to-be classics (called "Youngtimer" in German), many in factory-new condition like the Z1 and Z3M on the photos, just stunning! And you can take a photo with your car in front of the original entry gate of BMW, like I did
