Just sat in a Hellcat...
Hi Guys, so I just got back from the Montreal Auto Show and wasn't really that excited to go but wanted my 6 year old to experience it. The only car I was interested in sitting inside was the Hellcat Challenger/Charger and I have to say that Chrysler really upped their game on the interior of these cars. I still think the real bang for the buck is in the SRT models but I have to say that the red seats inside the Challenger Hellcat I sat inside was quite comfy and the finish looked really nice.
Have any of you driven this? I'm actually more curious about the Charger since I had a Charger RT a few weeks ago that I rented on a business trip and I had a blast with it. Just curious to hear any experiences. (Obviously my son wanted to sit inside the M3 they had on display. He sits in mine every day so I have no clue why this was the only car he sat in...) |

My second daily drive (family car) is a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT. Chrysler group was not reliable, than they add Fiat into......Just to tell it's the worst car for reliability that I had, but I love so much this truck that I would buy another one anytime. The Big atmospheric HEMi is a beast, it's not so civilized, but pull quite a lot for a 5200 lbs AWD truck. It's a bargain, about 40000$ less than a ML63 or X5M, and it can tow 7200 lbs ! I love the polyvalence of the truck. Roughly it takes about 4.9 sec to 60 MPH, and quarter mile in the low 13's....
For the Challenger, I'm already sold to Muscle car, so really love the look of it. They really improved their interior, but the quality of the material/plastic is still cheap, their different electronic modules are cheap, LED bulbs are cheap. But they really makes nice looking car, and big engine in it.

Friend of mine east of San Fran has a beautiful blue Charger Cat that I have had some seat time in. If you are a mopar guy this is the ultimate: 70K, 700HP a warranty. Yes please.
The interior is better then many a dodge but not up to euro standards, but again with a 70K 700 HP car: you must adjust your expectations a tad IMHO. The tech (remote access, tells you if someone is driving it etc...) is fun if you are in to that. It is a car that wants to live life 1320' at a time, plenty civil on the road if you use a lot of self control on the happy peddle. I don't know how one can do that but he does somehow as most of my time has been spent in it going < 50 MPH and never really out of 4th gear. Ride is fine, he will take it 80 miles to our San Jose Office from time to time with no issues other then me wanting to put cones around it so it doesn't get dinged by a tool in a prius who has no fscks to give. It does chirp tires easily in many gears. Me personally of the 'merican 8's I like the sound of the SBC so hard to not look at a Grand Sport for that price. Chevy never did commit to a NA 4 door. The CTS-V is quite the package but I can't agree with the caddy's overly angular styling: Hellcat is a far better looking heavy sedan to me. The fact that you can go out and get any of these is spectacular. - b |

Demon coming soon. Supposed to be lighter, wider, more powerful, on drag slicks, etc....

Never sat in one, but I have driven beside one. When this guy took of after a highway on ramp wow.
I think its comparable to a muscle gym freak on steroids, screaming as he benches 400lbs. |

This is the Hellcat I want to drive.........but seriously, I would love a car like that, I would just have to find a way to lighten it up, and cross my fingers on the electronics.

Totally different than the Hellcat, which can be driven daily with all the creature comforts everyone loves. |

I drove one. Interior did not impress me at all. Sub par for a $70k car IMO. Also, driving it did nothing for me.

I had a Challenger hellcat for a weekend and it was fun to smoke around, crazy power. I have a buddy who is an Exec at the plant in Brampton. I would assume the Charger would be a very similar experience.
