so an E60 M5 drove by my house the other day
...and I just happened to be on the balcony as it did. Holy CRAP that engine note made me almost collapse. It's not all obnoxious and loud and rumbly. On the contrary, it had a relatively high-pitched whine as it drove by and it was, in a word, amazing. It almost sounded like a boxer engine, but not quite. I couldn't believe it. So freaking hot. I still dunno how I feel about the styling of the M5 and the E60 in general, but I'm more than sold on that V10. As if the 500+ hp rating wasn't enough motivation, heh.
 just thought I'd share with some people I knew could appreciate it
