Any of you played AAU Basketball?

I got the privilege to play with and against the best players in the country and have made a lot of friends who play in the NBA. Despite all the traveling for tournaments, it was an experience that I would do all over again. Just curious to see if any of you played AAU National Basketball and what team/year. Perhaps I played against you!

My son plays on an AAU team. He will be a senior in High School. Headed to Vegas this weekend for the Fab 48 tournament. The team will be headed to watch some NBA summer league games during the down time.

That sounds great. What team does he play for and position? Is he getting any looks from schools??

He plays for the Bulldogs. They are based in Garden Grove, Ca but most of the kids are from Orange County. He is a 6'8" shooting guard. Only weighs about 180. Lots of local community colleges want him. We are fortunate that he is a very smart kid and wants to get into engineering so CC is not an option. He has been working out a bit with CalTech and that is really where he wants to go. Best of both worlds great school and he could play basketball. He is realistic, probably only a Div 3 candidate right now. All the other schools he is applying to are Div 1 so probably not.
