I live in CA but need help and advice.......

I live in socal, but I need to know where some of the absolute most beautiful locations in CA for taking macro and landscape shots are. Board walks and piers, i live laguna and yes the beaches in oc are nice but anyothers? Forests and trees, crazy flowers.....? How bout mexico?! Do you guys think I could get some interesting shots in mexico? I deff think so, what are some beautiful and interesting places in mexico that are close to socal? Thanks for your imput guys

SANTA CATALINA ISLAND. During the summer you can look into the water from a boat and see tropical fish almost ten feet deep clear as day. last time i went our boat got v-lined buy a couple hundred dolphins. it is like $40 for the boat ride tho.

Wow really?! Thanks, so catalina island, man i cant believe i forgot about that place, and what a cool and simple trip that would be.....i could probably ride a boat there from some where here in oc and 40 bucks isnt too bad at all. Could have some friends come and make a fun trip out of it.

yeah and i think for like $80 you can take a small helicopter. I've only ever taken the boat but I'm sure that the helicopter ride is cool too.

very nice....i gotta chose a clear day to go, and i'd LOVE to take that helicopter ride but do you think they'd let the side door stay open so i could take pics Nation Geographic style? Hah, i dont think they would....i'd have to cough up and order a private one for a few hours to do that, which is not happening haha. Who knows maybe they'd let me, id get some awsome shots thats for sure.

Just came back from my road trip from San Diego to SF. I took CA-1 from Santa Barbara to Monterey. The scenery was great but it takes a long time if you're stuck behind a slow driver like I was.

There is also a Japanese garden in Costa Mesa. I also think that hike into Laguna hills would be cool. That one that opens on the Canyon Road and El Toro.

I like SB and La Jolla go to the cliffs and take pix there also The Scripps Bldg right on the beach near UCSD has a cool all wood structure that extends out to the beach

I like the Bay Area, the hills NW of Napa, Muir Woods, and anywhere along Hwy 1 going up the coast. Great drive in the coupe as well!
