Alarm keeps going off!!

So my neighbor has a 2006 E60 530i with well over 100k miles. The car is in average condition but lately the alarm just goes off for no reason!!! Last night it went off at 3am and woke me up!!! Any idea on the cause? Please

Could be the battery is on it's way out. I think the alarm gets triggered when low voltage is detected. Atleast in all of the other ars I have owned.

Most common thing I can think of is hood switch, after that its either losing communication with the car like a rat chewed through a wire, or the alarm module itself is freaking out. Best bet is to take it in to have the alarm triggers read out. The vehicle saves what cause the alarm to trigger. So if it happened a ton of times on the hood switch for ex. Then you can tell its bad.
