Welcome back Footie!!
Hey there Footie! Great to have you back mixing things up on the forum again! Seems like you disappeared for awhile there (which, purely by coincidence, happened right about the same time as the SportAuto Comparison of the M3 v RS5).

Footie, is it true that you are banned from certain sections of this forum?
If so, I would like to respectfully submit a message to the appropriate moderator about you contributing nothing but worthwhile and insightful information that is contrary to common thinking on this board. What fun would this place be if we ALL thought Audis sucked, M's rule, and Cadillacs are for the elderly.

Hey foot...
Since I left in a huff a few months back, I've returned to recheck the situation a number of times, and found the same, sad situation, with the same haphazard and hamhanded moderation. However, with you back it looks as if even swamp has rekindled interest, and I admit I miss some of those semi-erudite arguments we've participated in. Are you in? Wanna do a little swamp-baiting and minor prodding of the faithful? Bruce |

This is the main reason for my lack of interest in the forum because almost all of the worthwhile threads worth discussing is in this very section. You are entitled to your opinion. May be you disliked my opinion and approach to discussions but I am not the kind of guy to praise blindly. I have been the guy who has relayed everything I have been told regarding all brands, I'm the one with egg on my face over the poor showing so far with the RS5 results as I stated that the RS5 should be quicker in most things. But that aside those figures achieved for the M3 by C&D are beyond exceptional, in my opinion no RWD with the same PTW as an AWD should or could be capable of achieving a better 0-60mph time. For someone to suggest tweaks to the DSC setup is plain laughable, two things achieve this (when gearing is the same) and that is power increase or less weight.....end of story. I look forward to the first videos showing stock customer RS5s vs stock customer M3s to see if the results match what we are seeing here.....somehow I doubt it. |

Footie's views add to the discussion, we take our shots at footie but he shouldn't be banned, I hate echo chamber forums. Besides, who really just wants to read more threads on faux diffusers and splitters.

All in favor of reinstating Footie say Aye!
Ok - some people (including me) on this forum have enjoyed watching good ole footie boy eating some serious crow with the whole string of (at least this far) UNANIMOUS comparison test going in favor of the M3 v footie's precious and beloved RS5...
That being said - unless someone uses truly hostile threatening or foul language, I fully support opposing viewpoints like Footie's (even if I disagree with certain asumptions he has made which I do not think were supported by enough evidence - or worse yet - contrary thereto). Also - this forum is WAY more interesting with footie - and like his statements or not - I get the impression he's a good guy - therefore - unless he engaged in conduct that is truly inappropriate for any kind of internet discussion - I would vote to reinstate full privileges to footie. (At least on a probationary basis). So what do you all think? |

I am glad I reside in a section of the forum that is not moderated. I always enjoyed Footie's debates as well

I always enjoyed reading your posts (Bruce's as well) in the vs. section. The depth and context of your posts were far superior to most on this board. Although I do not know the details of your ban, I do consider myself a more knowledgeable enthusiast as a result of reading your debates. Hope to see you and Bruce back on here again soon. ~MJC
