The rose bowl big-10 connection isn't what it was in the past. The big10 and PAC10 were rarely making it to the game because of the BCS.
My wifes dad was all bent out of shape yesterday that OSU wouldn't be making the rose bowl. I was like honestly who cares as long as your making it to 1 of the 4 BCS games. Anyways congrats to Wisconsin. They had a very good season. Hopefully they can keep it up as well as Mich St. It's been rather lonely and annoying being an OSU fan. The nation has some major beef with OSU for some gay reason be it their overrated or whatever. But you have to admit they constantly are putting out competitive teams. No one was giving USC, Florida, Oklahoma or Texas shit this past decade for being constantly in the top 10. Especially since Michigan has sucked balls for a while now. The big10 needs a handful of good teams and with the addiction of Nebraska next year will be pretty fun for the top schools. Cant wait for that championship game!

You're welcome.
Rich Rodriguez: Giving winning teams in the Big Ten free and easy wins since 2008.... Seriously, 0-12 vs teams who finish the Big Ten schedule with winning records... Time to go. What's funny was how Matt Millen (commentating during the game) said he should get another year to prove himself. What that means is that the only right thing to do is fire Rich Rodriguez. Millen hasn't been right about a single thing since he stepped off the field as a player, although I did find it funny when he was dogging OSU's president. Wisconsin, OSU, and MSU have some great teams this year, but the Big Ten just isn't the same without a Michigan team towards the top. If they don't fire that dbag and go out and get Harbaugh (or anyone halfway capable of fielding a fundamentally sound roster), I'm going to have a hard time bringing myself to watch a single game next year. |

Thanks...for the Badger comment. We played well towards the end of the season. I feel they were reading their press clippings before the Michigan State game and got their butts handed to them. I think it woke them up. Anyway, I cheer for the Big 10 teams, unless they are playing Bucky. It sometimes is lonely here in the Republic of Texas, but nothing beer, cheese and bratwurst can not solve. |

I'd say a little more than that, but whenever it is, he'll be back coaching. I'm not sure about the Muschamp hire. Not looking at any other coaches and hiring him in only a week. Just seems hasty to me. Not to mention Texas's defense was pretty piss poor this year, and hasn't been stellar for the past few seasons. Players like McCoy and Young playing QB and amazing offenses covered up a lot of the defense's problems.
I'm perplexed by the Miami hire as well. A relatively unknown coach from Temple? I thought their AD was promising a "knockout" hire. This guy seems like Shannon part 2 to me.

And thus you can see how a BCS system which attempts to preserve bowls as we know it can break up the "tradition" part of CFB. Imagine what a playoff system would do. Bowls would mean nothing! Tell that to the rose bowl commissioner and the millions of $ tied to it. As an OSU fan, I want a playoff, but you have to realize, you can't have your cake and eat it too. CFB will lose a lot of traditions with a playoff. I think if you really want everything, the BCS Bowls playoff +1 game is the way to go. |

Just b/c the Bucks owned Mich the last 8 years doesn't mean Mich is dead. If you ever looked at history, the rivalry has ALWAYS gone back and forth. Both teams get unbelievable streaks, with the expection of the "10 year war". You have to be stupid to think Mich is dead. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ohio_state_michigan Your logic would have applied when Earl Bruce left the Bucks in 1987, were we dead back then too? You must be either young and your college football history started in 2002 or you just don't get it. Last edited by mdosu; 12-16-2010 at 12:29 PM.. |
