Very simple. If you prepare your meals, it all works out. And tune has to be eaten everyday if not every other day.
tha fuck is this crap? srs?

Meal frequency has ZERO to do with what you will gain or lose dude.

Cals in vs Cals is the golden rule.

Please explain your reasoning behind this.

If you have a goal of 2500 cals on a diet.

If your day looks like this:

8am 400 cal meal

2pm 1000 cal meal

6pm 1100 cal meal

What is the difference between:

8am 400 cal meal

10am 400 cal meal

12pm 400 cal meal

1pm 400 cal meal

2pm 600 cal meal

6 pm 300 cal meal

For this conversation, macros are identical in both situations - you hit you pro/carb/fat. Please enlighten me as to why you would [think] there is a difference.

eating multiple small meals daily increases metabolism, 3 major meals is better for weight gain

I'm not trying to argue Collin, but unless you can prove that, it is false. There is no difference in what you are taking in on a Calorie basis; what you are saying is not a proven statement and is:

Uh, bro you serious? I work at a a gym. Read fitness magazines, ask nutritionists, personal trainers, etc. Frequency has a shit ton to do with weight loss. You need to spread out your meals so your body has 2-3 hours to break down food. You go from heavy carbs to protein and fiber throughout the day. You'll lose weight doing a more traditional three meal day too, but you won't maintain muscle mass as easily and your metabolism will tank in comparison. Your body can only digest so much food at once, and if you starve it, you'll begin cannibalizing muscle mass first, fat second.

Thread bump was successful imo, derail notwithstanding.

Recent studies show that eating three larger meals a day is better for weight loss, but only because the practice ostensibly staves off hunger better. In the end if you eat the same food (caloric count) throughout the day, it doesn't matter how many meals you have.

http://www.stuff.co.nz/life-style/459643

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9155494

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/3592618

So yeah, consuming smaller, more frequent meals as a means to weight loss or "boosting your metabolism" is basically broscience.

Yes this is especially true if you're trying to absorb as much protein as possible. You can only process it at a certain max rate. As far as small vs large meals goes, the jury's still out on that. You can find studies to support either side of the argument. In the end, you figure out what works best for you.

Also, inb4 Bobby Light "everything is poison".

And thanks for the thread save Nikki.

Actually, I've posted several scientific studies which show that meal frequency has nothing to do with weight loss.

I thought it had everything to do with appetite control though.

It does to some extent, but perhaps not in the way most people think. New studies indicate that eating three larger meals a day helps curb appetite better than eating smaller, more frequent meals. Give me a minute, and I'll find the link to those papers as well.

Sweet, do so please.

Also, please inform Arnold, so he can come out with a more accurate Encyclopedia. It could be the New New Encyclopedia. GD I love that book. Speaking of which, today was my first day back in the gym in 1.5 years. Back is all healed up and ready to go....

Fuck, it hurts.
