Anyone ship a car recently? Company suggestions?

Hi Everyone,

I'm thinking about relocating from Seattle back to Indianapolis, IN. I just bought my 135i 4 months ago and would like to ship it to Indiana. Has anyone used a shipping company recently? What was your experience? Would you use them again?

After I figure out the car situation I need to figure out how to get my other stuff back to Indy. I'm thinking about selling my furniture and heavy stuff and just shipping the rest of my stuff fedex/ups. I have a cat and I'm not sure how he'd handle 1800+ miles in a u-hual. PODS could be an option but there's no place at my current place to drop one off at. I just have a small studio apt so I'd rather sell what little furniture I have and ship the rest and fly home with the kittay.

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum - please move if so.

I used DAS multiple times. Dependable Auto Shippers. They are a great company. Reasonable and reliable. Try them!

Someone on another forum suggested them as well. I called and got a quote - $1191 door to door for top level open air. Seems reasonable. I just need to make sure I have 4 inches of clearance on the car when I get home. 2 week travel time and can pickup in two days.

Well crap, I don't think I have 4 inches of ground clearance. I'm going to get a better tape measurer and go re-measure. Wonder what my options are now.

i'm also in the process of shipping a car and i'm leaning toward DAS.
there are some cheaper companies/brokers out there, but i hear sometimes they ask for fuel surplus or some crap to make it more or as expensive upon delivery.
also open should be fine around this time of the year.. no hail and snow and bad weather to worry about.
GL!
