The origin of the car is the former Glas Company in Dingolfing, which was taken over by BMW in 1966 and is now one of the most important locations for BMW. The 1600 GT was equipped with a new transmission, a faster engine and embodies Italian design. It stands for the foresight of expansion from BMW of the 60's. |

I saw one a couple years ago and couldn't figure out what it was until I google searched for it when I got home. It looked really good in person.

Rare, extremely rare. I can't remember the last time I saw a photo of one of these. Once upon a time I owned a 1969 BMW. I can remember the thin aluminum fins in the grill.

Awesome car. It's amazing how big cars have gotten. Hood on that is so small. I parked my F30 next to an E46 the other day and couldn't believe how small the E46 looked. Never felt small when I had one, just felt like the perfect size, at the time.

Perfectly aged and beautiful! Smooth and fluid and not boxy like most of the styles today.

I find it interesting how lately I've seen BMW videos posted on YouTube and then at least 2 or 3 days later they end up on the forums. Why not faster?

My 1600GT
My beloved companion of many years, who has outshined some 6-cylinder and V8 engines, as well as 320i's, 328i's, and even another GT in the garage... they have all come and gone, but he remains steadfast, now proudly standing alongside the new electric i series.
