DCT extra 1L via GTS banjo bolt
I have all the pieces to install the GTS banjo bolt for adding 1L during the normal procedure.
this is the picture I am working with. This cover in another thread about the Slone DCT pan, This is specifically about installing this filling piece Hopefully I am not duplicating the issue. |

I will update this thread with the complete process once I get the whole system together.
The next challenge would be to screw the banjo as replacement to the OEM plug and make sure it fits and does not leak |

Are you planning on keeping it installed on the car permanently?

Yes.
The tilting method may work for DIY but when I tried, oil just came out when the car was warm, tilted but not running. I don't want to tilt a running car. The GTS method should allow any shop, including myself on QuickJack, to fill out the DCT using normal procedure. At least this is what I am aiming for. |

So far I just added what came out when I switched to the banjo.
I ordered a silicon hose 3/8" id 3mm wall to make a direct hose from the pump to the AN8. I will take a picture of that. Using what came with the pump attachments is too cumbersome |

Note, when I open the fill plug, almost a litter came out and I captured it into a clean container. It would have been smarter to drain a litter out from the drain plug first.
But I did not think so much would come out from a car that has been sitting for two days. I then filled up the pump with what came out, and put it back into the DCT. It would be interesting to see how much I can add to a cold car via the banjo. If I can add the whole extra litter while cold, it would greatly simplify the DIY. The nice thing is that I screw the barbed AN8 to the top of the banjo and pushed the pump piston not needing to hold the hose. This is very helpful for one man operation. I the replaced the AN8 cap. Everything with AN component is a precise fit. so even hand tightening create a good seal. |

Can someone add a link to the DCT fill-up procedure. I know I read it here, but I can't find what thread it was

Yesterday I added 1L to a warm no-running car.
The GTS fill up worked great because the banjo is tall enough that no spill over happens when you disengage the AN8 barb. I got a clear vinyl tube 3/8" ID 1/2" OD from NAPA and made a direct connection between the pump and the AN8 barb. This eliminated all the quick connections hoses that came with the pump for a very simple system. The PUMP can take a whole 1L. So I filled it up with the 1L DCT fluid. I have a QuickJack and on the second position it is tall enough to work underneath. It will be more difficult if is is lower. For a lower positioned car, I recommend a longer hose and keeping the pump to the side of the car, rather then underneath. You may need more fluid because a lot more fluid will stay in the connecting hose. Two people will make the job more efficient. One person stays with the pump, one person remove the AN8 cap and screw the hose end, wait for the pump person, then replace the pump. This eliminate the need to move around while the pump is full with fluid. Some installation notes: Position the banjo a bit tilted so the AN8 cap clears the metal tab next to it. In a straight up position the cap corners will not clear that tab and you will not be able to open and close easily. The O2 sensor is in the way during the banjo installation. But can be worked around during the filling procedure. The banjo comes with two copper washers. It needs to be tight but be careful, you are working with aluminum threads. Either use torque wrench or feel. I made tight enough first to stop leaking. But after it rested a bit in that position, I wiped all the oil from my tools and banjo bolt and very carefully added more tightening until I felt that more force will not compress the copper washers any longer. The whole thing needs to be tested for reliability. i don't know how it will stand the vibration of a track day. I will add pictures once I have the silicon hose and the whole setup can be a kit. |

Will be curious to see if temps come down a bit with more fluid to dissipate the heat into.

Not sure if it's related to temps, but others who track hard have mentioned that this prevented limp mode that was previously happening without it. Probably won't prevent it for all occasions or extended hard use without other cooling mods.
