Never known them not to offer matching 4yr/50K warranty, so I would assume nothing different, especially at around $2500. Others will follow, Burger, Cobb, etc, and will most likely be much cheaper but with no warranty.

This thread has been cleaned up a bit. We're not going to resort to personal attacks and name calling.
There are going to be plenty of tuning options for the M3/M4. If you're not interested in a particular brand or product, there's no need to worry what someone else is spending his/her money on.

I hope Cobb joins the party but it's doubtful. I've talked to a couple folks over there in the last month and they mentioned they had no plans to pursue a tuning solution for the F8x. Perhaps they may take a different stance in the future but for now, they're out.

I just read that this morning. It shows that JB4 does better than the DINAN. More torque, more power and your able to tune and make adjustments to the car vs DINAN. Its all a numbers game.

Nothing wrong with a jb4 or 3 or +, they are very inexpensive and give you maps otf and provide for e85 and meth. No warranty but excellent the for the strip. For me I see it this way, 70 to 80 thousand dollar car, first year for the new s55, I'll take the warranty coverage behind door number 3 Alex. Especially if you have long term ownership in mind, if on the other hand I were leasing, I too would go the cheapest route possible with a trade in mind in 3 or 4 yrs. So, something for everybody.

The Stage1 and DTRONICS N55 comparison is an interesting one though. The DTRONICS is around $2300 installed while the BMS Stage1 is around $400. The Stage1 happens to make more power but let's presume the higher DTRONICS stage matches BMS' Stage1 power output. So you're paying $1900 for some warranty. The only thing to keep in mind is it's not a full warranty. Racing the vehicle on a track, adding any non-Dinan party, etc, will void Dinan's warranty. Still some warranty is better than none! These lower stage tunes are so conservative though I don't see either of them causing any major problems. Mike |

First I have to say - I don't know enough (like most here) to truly qualify the risks involved. Also - I have been using BMS tune on my N20 for the last 25K miles, with few little issues. So I am thankful for the product and mostly the price vs. performance. However $1900 for warranty isn't bad considering the premium on service work and parts for the M's. Maybe you think this is irrelevant but we don't know the how these cars will be in 20-50K miles. Even stock cars could have turbo or other problems we don't yet know about right? If this was a factory formula that has been out for a few years and proven to have little to no issues piling on miles in stock form I think many ppl would be more comfortable using a warranty voiding tune. This is just my input as a potential buyer reviewing current market options. I haven't decided which way I would go but I do know after the "honeymoon" phase I will be more seriously researching this. I wish all parties involved in creating a tune much success and hope the all sell many units so the rest of us have some real world data points. |

LOL at dinan and "close" in the same sentence
they told me the same thing along with their exhaust for the m5 last october and the exhaust alone took them another 3+ months and their piggyback only came out about a month or two ago lmao. so close for them was 6+ months and remember the m5/m6 have been out since 2012 |
