you have an NBT not a CIC. you don t need to flash it and you don t need to replace the hdd.

i understand, you want to do it yourself and not to pay for someone else to do it for you. unfortunately you are on the wrong topic/forum for this.

people here won t teach you how to convert an NBT from ASIA to ECE and definitely won t do it for free

If we change the region to ece, will I loss the ability to show the chinese characters? As current japanese one it can show chinese song name in usb drive. This is my main concern at the moment.

Of course we won't expect ppl do it for free..as long as it's reasonable. I do pay for the fsc code but end up it's useless. I guess it's OK as learn from mistake

i am not sure if you can retain the chinese song names. maybe you can share some songs and i can test on an NBT from europe. never done that, can t confirm but worth trying

If you have a cic it s better to just replace the headunit with one from ece, it s way easier to activate then change region on the ASIA unit

VIN is incomplete. i can provide you map + code for India ( NEXT or EVO)
