Why in god's name would you want turbos on your 911 unless it's a TURBO?
I know, torque and power and torque and power but urrrrrrrrgh it's just another car at that point. Someone above suggested 997 GTS, now I am a huge fanboy of the GTS, really would love one but prices have gone absolutely insane vs a nicely specced 'S', they make zero sense. Random idea, Alfa 4C, dead set loos like it wants to fellate you. |

My friend that had one years ago is the whole reason I want one. Wish he never let me drive it LOL. He paid $36k for it. I forget what year. No, it was not a problem car. Clean title car with no problems etc. Last edited by Donatello.; Yesterday at 06:06 PM.. |

That seems reasonable enough on the surface, but the engine and transmission requirements for rebuilds/servicing are usually pretty insane, requiring major mechanical work, dropping the engine/subframes, or changing out parts that would run 10x longer in a mass produced engine. I always wondered how they could make these insane numbers...but then I learned about the required maintenance. Make sure to factor that in.

so many great cars under $100K
Most of my top choices would be mid engine with manual transmission Gen 1 R8 V8 (biased) Gen1 NSX (biased) 981 GT4/GTS/Spyder Lotus Emira/Evora/Elise AM Vantage Most of these listed above are most likely to retain their value if not appreciate in value.... there are many many other amazing cars you can easily get that will be well sorted and low miles for under $100K The hunting of one is one of the funnest parts of buying one. Happy hunting |

I wouldn't do anything until something blips on your radar and gives you that 'I MUST have that RIGHT NOW' feeling. Just my $.02 of course, good luck with whatever you decide to do.

I say all this as a bitter man who was shopping for a GTS in the 50K range in 2019 and felt they were too expensive and passed |
