We don't know for sure. However, forum member lemetier has strongly hinted that it will come sometime during the G8x run.

These aren't hybrids in the traditional sense. It's basically an evolution of the 12V electrical system found in cars for a century or more. It allows for efficiency gains through brake energy regeneration and provides a small electric power assist to the engine.

However, there is indeed a small weight penalty attributed to the additional hardware, and I think that auto start/stop can no longer be switched off (but that could theoretically change for M models).
