You already got your answer...but...100% Miele.
Our's is a couple years old...the one before that is 13-14 years old...motor replaced by Miele (for free) at 8 years old...and it's still running.
Buy a model with the powered brush head, for sure. I think our current one is the Brilliant C3...it's an ugly bronze color, but other than that, it's great.
Best Vacuum, out of Chicago, usually has the best prices on Miele...although I got our newer one from a small vacuum shop in upstate NY who sold it on eBay (probably wasn't supposed to).
