another way to look at it is that his negativity turned you negative and he's really the one that pulled the win.
additionally, note that i said i would call for him. i don't believe you should let anyone touch your belongings unless you don't mind losing them.

Well it's not like I stranded him in the desert, he was busy at a gas station. I just wasn't willing to hand a stranger my phone, especially after him being rude. I get what you're saying, but perpetuating somebody's bad behavior is something I don't see helping. Plus, I don't like randoms having my phone in their possession (as you said).
