Im into Watches myself. But I always stood away from Rolex because everyone has one. It is not unique and not cool looking in my opinion. I prefer PANERAI, Patek, Lange, or AP. Just waiting patiently for my M2 after a great ED in Munich, Monaco, Florence, Rome and Venice.

I think Rolex makes great watches but I suppose many buy them solely because of brand recognition.
Rolex watches domhave outstanding reliability, are cheap to service and the best time keeping I have experienced. Value appreciation i general is an added bonus.
Patek Philip and AP makes fantastic watches but I would consider them being a step above rolex in terms of market segment.
That being said I appreciate all kinds of watches and brands.
