Are you using pressure? I find the real difference of a DE is to let it do all of the work. Don't apply any pressure and it will be a better shave. I have a thick beard and disposables left me with visible five o'clock shadow and a DE allows me to skip a day if the hangover is too severe or the kid takes an extra long shit.

However it comes back to blades. Try a sample pack or two. I think I went through ten to twelve brands and models before landing on one that works for my beard. Personna Med Preps, but Feathers were a close second. Merkur blades are awful and some of the Gillette's are good, but some are wildly bad.

i use the van der hagen too but i end up always cutting myself i actually ended up cutting myself just today trying to shave, its like im 15 again hahah

also i dont apply a lot of pressure, just a little bit it's just how i learned how to shave. but will keep that in mind, thanks!
Try different blades. It makes a huge difference. There are some blades that seem specifically designed to make my face bleed.
