I thought I should give my final verdict here. The repair set me back almost £1k

Towing £140
Fuel pressure kit £320
Work £150
New Maf £320

all parts genuine BMW and new

There was a small drop of diesel on the ECU connector wall so really stopped the car in the last second!
Have done nearly 500mls since and all is good.
No faults coming up on ista or the cluster.

Advice here is, get your car on the scanner asap if you get drivetrain error message
