Exhaust note of a v6 minivan doesn't sound as manly as a v8 rumble, and the minivan doesn't have the same masculine looks (as they were manufactured and advertised towards stay at home moms ushering their kids around). It's honestly all a mind game and decades of shaming that has given minivans their stigma.
My dad drove a minivan when I was in middle school and high school. I enjoyed ripping sick burnouts with it (e-brake and floor it in drive) when I took it out some nights. But if I have the cash, I will choose the Tahoe/Yukon every time. If I didn't and still had the same need, I would buy a used Tahoe/Yukon before minivan. If I was REALLY tight on money, then ya, I'd get the minivan but then it wouldn't be a new one because I wouldn't have the money for it.
