Its pretty easy. I have attached a little picture of what you need to remove to remove the DME's.
Basically remove the plastic Engine cover (just pull up it snaps off). Then remove those items in the picture I have the arrows to. The ECU assembly locks in similar to how the engine plastic cover is. You just pull it off the rubber grommet holes. Do the same for the other side.
Make sure you zip-tie those coolant lines up so it doesn't leak everywhere.

Thanks for the detailed pic. Do you disconnect the battery before disconnecting the ECU connectors?

Yes -- it's good practice to disconnect the battery for any work with electrical component impact.
