A $15k car is in no way comparable to a $60k car. On the other hand, a $50 watch is entirely comparable to a $5,000 watch; once you strip away the meaningless, pretentious, glittering generality that comes with high-end watches, such as "presitgious", "elegant", "sophisticated", etc. all watches are the exact same.
Its just easier to justify and understand spending extra money for a needlessy expensive car than it is for spending money on a needlessly expensive watch. This is why no one calls someones judgement into question when they purchase an expensive car. Also, uh, this is a car forum. Im sure the exact opposite holds true on some watch forums; people clueless as to why anyone would spend $60k+ on a car.

A $15k car gets you from point A to point B the same as a $250k Ferrari. Nice watches appreciate in value opposed to cars that drastically depreciate. If you don't "get it" - fine, stay out of the thread.
