Being a coward has nothing to do with service. There are other words for that, most of them very positive in nature.

I will say, however, that bringing up your service anytime anyone makes a negative remark about you is borderline juvenile. While I will never discredit someone for their service, I will never think better of a person just because they mention they are in the military. In fact, I really dislike it when people are like, "well, I'm in the military.." or, "I go to the Academy.." like they should get a cookie for it. A returning veteran? Hell yes they should be honored. Someone heading out for deployment? Most definitely.

However, you come on here defending yourself with nothing but your service. What I see in that is a young kid who is stuck with the same comeback whenever someone challenges his ego. Just let the remarks slide off you and go on like normal.
