Last summer I had a bunch of palm trees in pots. They weren't very tall but the wind still blew them over during thunder storms. I need to get someone to see if we can build some type of box or planter that would be able to hold the trees without the roots breaking through.

Ideally, I'd like to plant arborvitae, not only to cover the fence and have some green but so they will grow high and give me some privacy. I have about 5 feet from the pool edge to fence line. When the pool is covered, I have less than that, and need more room for the straps and anchors for the pool cover.

If I was completely out of my mind, I would shorten the pool. It's pretty long and runs the length of the property. Not sure why they didn't do it across the width.
