A lot left to happen and not much time. Dany is definitely going full mad king, Jon is going to have to kill her himself and will probably stab her through the heart ala Azore Ahai prophecy creating “lightbringer” and fulfilling the red priests predictions.
Varys will sacrifice himself to save Tyrion, instead of pointing the finger to survive as he did to survive with the mad king.
Gendry ends up with Sansa, and Jaimie kills Cersei, Grey worm kills Euron, Hound takes mortal wound killing Mountain monster, and Arya gives him the gift of death.
Ties things up but the way the story went, and the reason the show was great was the intricate and complicated interplay between characters/missions/stories the amount of story left to be told would have taken seasons to unfold but will now be hastily be thrown into 2 episodes.
At least that’s what all the set up looks like to me. All just guesses and the other reason the story is so good is that the unpredictable does happen.
