Technically speaking, your account didn't get hacked, as that would require more skill to execute a security exploit (e.g. packet sniffing through the default unsecure connection on this site) or brute force.
You simply fell prey for good old social engineering, which is a process of fooling people into giving away their identity, user credentials, or any confidential information onto a fake data repository.
Nonetheless, it's not a good experience to go through, and I would highly suggest you change your other account passwords if the one you used on BP applies to any other important accounts.
