Nah, I'm not after a thicker/better steering wheel as my primary focus. More like I had in my head what I expected my M40i to be (with M-sport wheel). And now that it's not available, maybe I should pause and just reconsider the entire purchase.
I definitely don't want to seem dramatic about a freaking steering wheel. But after the seat, it's the part of the vehicle you physically interact with the most. It should be a good experience! I've had 3 M-sport or real-M steering wheels in a row, not really in the mood to spend $68K and go to a standard wheel.
