Typically those limeade mixers have high fructose corn syrup in them which changes the dynamics of the drink and does the same thing as in using sodas..aka coca cola, sprite, etc.
Now you are onto a more pure formula. I still would recommend making a simple syrup. I made some Margaritas last week and used Jose, simple syrup, limes and ice. Basic and nice and I felt pretty good.
