I'm heading out that way in January. Never been to Belgium so maybe I go hop on a train to Brussels or something. Maybe it's worth it to stop by for a few wobbly pops or some scotch. The people there speak French or German? Or both?

No, I have no idea, I had no problems communicating in English.
Brussels was not appealing to me when I stopped in for a few hours, but I think I was just jaded from driving from Paris. It probably has a few very neat places, I just didn't see them. I wound up having a beer or two in a pub and deciding to leave early and just go back to the place I was renting in Amsterdam.
