If you are going to be looking at a 2021 you would have to get the Macan Turbo for a performance comparison to the X3M. The refresh 2022 that will land in the US/Canada early next year (orders open now) they rejigged the lineup, so the GTS now gets the Turbo engine, and the S gets last years GTS engine (both Audi derived engines 2.9L V6tt as damnitBobby mentioned), The 2021 GTS engine is just a detuned version of the 2021 Turbo engine, which is a detuned version of the Audi RS5 engine.
