Optics work wonders. Our range team has found shooting accuracy has improved substantially now that we allow optics on our duty weapons and off-duty weapons. I don't have an optic on any of my pistols, but I may consider it down the line. All of my partners with optics on their Glocks, Staccato's, S&W's, etc. love them.
I have a little LCP I keep in the car. Adding a laser grip (Industry discount - nice) I bet changed my groups by 50%. Those little guns are hard to shoot well, but taking the sights out helps a ton.

My eyes are shit. At any time of the day I might be no glasses, reading RX glasses or Distance RX glasses. I want to be able to shoot well in any condition. At least a milk jug at 25 decent anyway.

I'm prob 80% of that without glasses with the SAS sights - which is pretty good, but I think a dot would get me to 100%. Just wonder how they would work with appendix carry. I think I'm gonna try a P365X Romeo when/if I find one in stock. I can always sell it.....
Appendix works fine with the proper holster. I haven't heard any complaints from those carrying appendix with an optic.
