Seems like one of the few spots in our social system where people are actually paid relative to their skills and the amount of money they pull in.
In theory:
These players are, by definition, the best in the world at what they do.
You cant just go out and find someone else to do it as well or better.
You cant teach someone else to do it as well or better.
And, so long as people choose to buy seats and merch, the money flows.
.Unlike, say, CEOs who make literally hundreds of times more that the workers who actually create and support some product or service (and may be paid that whether or not they perform).
To it all: thats capitalism, baby.
