You have not meet enough stupid people in your life have you, this girl is prime example, come on was most likely looking down at the phone when she was typing and missed the fact there was hole in the ground.
I guess it has happen in NYC, because people looking down at the phone while walking and do not notice the signal change and they just walk out into the intersection.
