I'm a firm believer in creating a colorful dialogue. It keeps things interesting for the reader.
Glad you noticed. My efforts are not in vain.
I agree with Onesy on the reservations. Perhaps she just wants your time and not to be impressed. Case in point, I took the girlfriend for a fancy dinner last weekend for her birthday; first time she had ever been to a $100/plate restaurant. Although she enjoyed it, I could tell that she was uncomfortable in the setting and was slightly out of her element. She told me later that she enjoyed it and the meal was fantastic but she didn't need all that, all she wanted was to spend some time with me.
