X3 xdrive30i - 22 city /29 highway - 25 combined - at 15k miles/year estimated fuel cost is $2050 per year.

$200 dollars a year difference, if gas doubles in price this goes to a $400 difference per year.

The SUVs aren't getting 10-15MPG less than their car counterparts these days. As mentioned even if gas doubles in price no one is going to start screaming to dump all SUVs . It's a terrible argument.
