Wagon - Extremely low volume product that has to be certified for U.S. sale (divide cost by number buying it) while the X3 is a high volume product built in the U.S.

330i XDrive - 25 city/34 highway - 28 combined - at 15k miles a year estimated fuel cost is $1850 per year.
X3 xdrive30i - 22 city /29 highway - 25 combined - at 15k miles/year estimated fuel cost is $2050 per year.
$200 dollars a year difference, if gas doubles in price this goes to a $400 difference per year.
