Yeah, but

1) you are now talking about a family of 5 or 6 versus a family of 3.

2) The increase in food consumption is offset by no diaper, formula, wipes, et al. Those things are quite pricey.

3) Bottom line, is that in America, on average, most families spend about $300 - $400 per month per person on groceries and going out to restaurants. I think those numbers are also pretty representative of the responses here in this post as well.
