That's how it is in VA. Except, reckless is just 20MPH over. It's also the same severity as a DUI which is ridiculous. If you get pulled over and they give you a reckless, there's no amount you pay. You have to go to court and you better get a lawyer. Ask me how I know?! Oh, and radar detectors are illegal in VA which makes it the last state in the country.
Moral of the story: don't ever speed in VA.
