TY for the reply. I see now what misread elsewhere that resulted in my putting GT2 after the 991. TY for catching that.
I see now why was originally confused. I read "pre-991" re: the 997 and had in mind cars discussed here:

Amid the "991s" and "911s" I think I got dyslexic and lost track of things as I was trying to make sense of the darn names/numbers, to say nothing of there having been firmly stuck in my head the sophistry (re: Porsche at least) that a car designated "991" should predate one noted as "997."
