And Mercedes-Benz needs to work on quality
I went to see the new X5 this week and was saddened by what I saw. The vehicle certainly is attractively styled but the fit and finish was very disappointing. The one I looked at had a full leather dash but there was wrinkling on it already, and a trim piece looked as if it had just come out of a CNC router.

In comparison, I also looked at the 2020 GLE and it’s fit/finish/material quality were quite far above the BMW’s. It gave a sense of luxury, while the X5 didn’t.
And yet I find the materials in present day Mercedes to have a cheap, low rent feel. This is been my experience with the E Class but then again is a car destined for taxi cab fleets in Europe.
