Personally, I think letting the market decide is the reasonable permanent solution. If someone feels the compensation isn't enough, they are free to quit. If there's not enough people to fill the positions, then Whole Foods will need to increase the compensation.

The market today is not what it will be when things settle down. WF / Amazon may give something now to temporarily meet demands that won’t always be the same. So raises today will result in terminations later when cheaper labor is available if they aren’t given up when the market normalizes. But yes agree on market deciding pay.
