I ended up with something similar. I need something on my feet. Some sort of cushion and arch support. I may grab some metatarsal support insoles for these.

As an aside, this house had white carpet everywhere when we moved in. That didn't last long with the cats. Now we have almost all Pergo except for my office and the bedroom. Bare feet on Pergo doesn't work for me, though.
