While it is a poor financial decision, if you can afford it, then life is too short to not do things you want to do. If it was me, I would wait a few years then maybe get a slightly newer F80. The 340 you have as packaged ain't no slouch!
I plan to move on from my F30 328i in the next 3 years and maybe get into an M3 or a newer 340.
