I doubt there is a wrong answer here. Most of us don't shoot enough where solvent cleaning after each shoot would be detrimental. And a simple bore snake and shot of lube after each shoot is generally more than enough to keep everything in good working order. You know your gear, take care of it as needed.

As Fundguy pointed out, different weapons like different treatment. You can run a glock dry as a bone for weeks. Do that with most 1911s and you're toast after a few mags.
