I also would recommend a good quality leather wipe.
They do a very good job of protecting and conditioning without depositing too much of the product. I usually use a microfiber cloth after that to move the product into the surface and remove excess, then I use a lambs wool pad to finish off.
That helps to seal and protect and also makes the seat feel softer with use without any slippery feel.
