I know in the past, the Catholic church used to sell indulgences, my guess is that they don't do that anymore, but I have no idea. I suspect they still exist, but just not commercialized anymore. Still, that notion that an indulgence is required before your sin can be forgiven is not Scriptural.
I won't get into a biblical conversation with you...I will only say this: The bible you adhere to and that we mostly adhere to is the "least common denominator" bible. It's contents were negotiated by people that are long dead and they had their agendas, as well.

If everyone remembered, "The Spirit of God lives in all men so that they may know right from wrong.", and "Love your neighbor as yourself.", 99.9% of the problems we experience as individuals and as societies would not exist.
