I know there are some lightweight AR10 parts available, can't imagine what the build cost would be. After doing both my AR10s I was like holy cow they are heavy beasts, said to my buddy it would be work carrying it around the woods. Will use the luggage scale to weigh them and report, no way mine are close to 6lbs, have to be close to 10.

I have seen a number of lightweight AR10 builds. Some much more expensive than the others. I think I would go with a short 16'' barrel + muzzle brake. I don't need distance and accuracy here in the NE that a longer rifle will give me. I coudl always just swap barrels if I ever wanted a longer one. I would like to take an AR10 out hunting for whitetail this fall if all goes as planned.
