In Northern California, you have to be careful of Oregon drivers. They apparently don't notice when they get into heavier traffic as they head south.
Worst example ever: I was in a freeway interchange in Sacramento that's seven lanes wide, with three highways intersecting. I was in the #2 lane (second to the fast lane) when the car in front of me swerved... and I found myself headed for the rear end of a car with Oregon plates that was
backing up. He apparently missed the two lanes a half mile back that exited to the far right.
The seat of my car was never the same.
